One of our volunteers wrote the following and attached it to a bag of purchases. We were so touched by the note, we decided it is worth sharing!ππ©·ππ©·ππ©·ππ©·ππ©·Following my last shift on September 10, I shared with my 90-year old neighbor (Dolores Tighe) how few clothes were in the 3T boys and girls bins (which we checked as part of our shift's responsibilities that day). She lives on a very limited budget, but was adamant that she wanted to get some clothes for the toddlers. She loves children and had six of her own. So, we went on a mission for adorable clothes to donate. Please find enclosed the following items:3T boys clothes (2 mix and match outfits), 10 pack of toddler boys socks4T girls clothes (2 mix and match outfits), 10 pack of toddler girl socksSincerely,Kathy PalkerThank you, Kathy, for sharing our needs with your neighbor. And thank you, Dolores, for wanting to help fill our toddler bins with such beautiful clothing and colorful socks! ππ©·πππ»ππ©·π
On Thursday September 24th Birthcare of Medina celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Director Barb McCoy opened the event by reflecting on her love and pride for the organization that has grown immensely since she began volunteering in 1991. She acknowledged both current and past volunteers as well as board members, thanking all for contributing in the continued growth of the organization over the years. Assistant Director and Treasurer Diane Bugner spoke on the history of Birthcare uncovered in the archives, comparing our past versus present, unearthing just how far weβve come. We were fortunate to have the Mayor of Medina Jim Shields join us. He delivered a sentimental speech, sharing his history of working with Barb and growing up knowing a lot of the active volunteers in our organization. He presented Birthcare with a Proclamation in honor of our 50th Anniversary, showing gratitude for the work we do to provide for the littlest members of our community. In addition, Ed Bugner, from the Knights of Columbus, Medina Council 4168, presented a $1,000 check from that organization in honor of our 50th anniversary. This money will go towards stocking up on the essentials we provide to little ones. We are very grateful for the continuous support we have from our local organizations. The event ended by enjoying casual conversation with new and familiar faces, enjoying cupcakes and looking back on Birthcare history through scrapbooks. What a wonderful way to celebrate a half a century of providing love and support to our community.

Donβt Forget!! We will be at our Lodi location tomorrow!! We will see you there!
For the last several years, Birthcare has relied on the "muscle" of St. Francis Xavier students to help with our seasonal bin changeover. That means all the winter/fall bins are carried to our main office and all the summer/spring bins are put into the auxiliary office. This morning at 8am sharp St. Francis Xavier preschool coordinator Kelly Carlin with students Cam, Preston and Emma were good sports and assisted with the big project. We are so grateful to them and their school for allowing them to lend a hand!
